Mini Gathering at Kayu

Last Friday, 11th August 2006 at Kayu in Chow Yang (SS2), I had the rare opportunity to meet some of my long-lost friends from Seaport high school. There he was, Mr. Lee Kok Loong – the Man of Steel, back from the U.K. for a short holiday. We’re so glad that he managed to squeeze in some time to meet bunch of old friends while on a short break to visit his family here.



As it turns out, meeting Kok Loong wasn’t the main agenda. Our friend Winnie managed to coax us into buying some coupons for a programme that her company is organising! Ah well, it’s for a GOOD CAUSE and she can always count on us suckers, ehem, I mean buddies to support this charity carnival. Anyway Winnie, thanks for the dried mangoes you brought back for my wife, from your recent trip to Manila – how thoughtful of you!

I felt that the meeting was too short. Didn’t have enough time to chat with Chin Ling, Chih Hsiung and his wife, Peck Yen (Sheesh, I didn’t know you married Man Peck Yen! You weasel you! I didn’t see that coming after leaving high school…). Time flies… Last time I saw the three of you was before I took the SPM exam!



I think that these irregular mini gatherings are WAY more successful at summoning 1993 batch to meet up than the SP Alumni could ever achieve! It was really good to meet up Kim Chuan, Eu Jin, Wei Loong, Adrian Tai (with his future wife!), Jude (with his new gf, wahseh!), Mun San, Tze Kang (last time I saw you was during your graduation ball in Manchester, right?) and the ever-happy Sherman. Keep this up guys! But not too often and too late past midnight – I’ve got someone waiting for me at home liao!
